Iam very familiar to BigL
If BP confirms me that the transmitter has been moved on the 2nd of August
and that BigL returns in less as 60 days, one of their biggest Dutch
investors tells me he has no intention to stop advertising than it is
complete legal for me to shout for one time a loud "bullshit yell".
Sometimes i get the idea that several pple here have no radioheart at all
anymore, they are allready dancing on a grave that has even not been digged.

About the jocks....Believe me, nobody has the patience or financial space to
do the job 6 months for free, that story I do not believe and in memory of
the last time, the jock that "left" BigL, picked up the phone 2 days later.

Iam a BigL fan but never in my life I putted this kind of stories about RC
on the internet, it soiunds as Coronation Street talk and can harm a
business badly.

The fact Mike has been saying we hope to be back on 1395 as soon as possible must mean that they have no plans to use another frequency as alternatives were discussed here for instance 540 to name just one.

Or do we however take things with a pinch of salt currently and expect anything to be an outcome.

I think that's the best thing to do.
I remember the many rumours of Radio Caroline returning after the Mi Amigo sank in 1980,mostly started by free radio fans.
Let's just see what happens.

Rough translation:

The English commercial station, Big L from London, is no longer transmitting on the Dutch mediumwave frequency 1395 AM. It has broadcast on the frequency since September 2006, from Trintelhaven in Lelystad. The licence is officially in the hands of Quality Radio owner, Ruud Poeze.

"The official reason is that they are looking for a new site closer to Britain for the transmitter, says Poeze on Radiofreak.nl. "But it was admitted that the high price of diesel was a problem. There is also little advertising revenue, partly due to poor coverage in England."

Poeze does not say whether the channel will come back. 'London' can still be heard via the internet and Sky.

Thankyou for that. Very Happy

Being a sad individual, I pressed the preset for 1395 on my car radio and ..... MUSIC, then....... 'BROADCASTING LIVE FROM THE ROSS REVENGE IN THE NORTH SEA'
Suddenly I was 20 years younger Wink

The good news is Caroline is being relayed on 1395 while BigL is off by someone in the Claydon/Needham Market area of Suffolk (audible in Ipswich).

But it was only an ad for a CD of 80s memories.

At least there is something on AM in the car... and a presenter!!

It's not the same guy who sometimes relays Caroline on 1476 (sometimes over WNKR) or 810 or other frequencies is it? I could hear this on the Essex coast with a decent rx and long wire. Have also heard Dublin's Energy using 1395 at night.

I'm afraid you are completely right. He does not and proof is in his postings on various sites including AN, this one and the Caroline mailing list.

The translation might be right, the content isn't. Poeze has sold the license to BigL. He has a lot of experience in the AM scene dough. He might have suggested a few sites to BigL. The Red tape is long and thick however and other stations would like BigL to remain off the air, notably Arrow Rock.

You bet they don't! Same as over here, the big boys don't want to use it, but they won't want the little guy to have a chance to get in there and fill the gap. Sad
